Adult ADHD Evaluation
Get Clarity About How Your Brain Works
ADHD can affect far more than attention. It can influence motivation, organization, time management, emotional regulation, academic performance, relationships, and the ability to follow through—even when someone is intelligent, capable, and working hard.
A thoughtful ADHD evaluation can provide clarity about what is getting in the way, identify areas of strength, and help determine appropriate next steps.
Dr. Adwoa Akhu provides virtual ADHD evaluations for adults and college students.
Who May Benefit From an Evaluation?
An ADHD evaluation may be helpful if you:
- Have difficulty starting or completing assignments
- Frequently miss deadlines or underestimate how long tasks will take
- Struggle with organization, planning, or time management
- Can focus intensely on interesting tasks but have difficulty with routine ones
- Feel overwhelmed by responsibilities that others appear to manage more easily
- Have been described as unmotivated, inconsistent, forgetful, or “not working up to your potential”
- Did well academically in the past but are struggling with the increased demands of college, graduate school, or work
- Suspect ADHD may be contributing to anxiety, burnout, or chronic frustration
- Need documentation to support a request for academic or workplace accommodations
What the Evaluation Includes
The evaluation process includes validated ADHD, executive functioning, anxiety, and depression measures; a comprehensive clinical interview; a feedback session; and a written report.
The report includes:
- Diagnostic impressions and relevant differential considerations
- Identification of the executive-functioning areas most affected
- A strengths-based profile of attention and self-regulation
- Practical recommendations for therapy, coaching, and other forms of support
- Documentation that may be used when requesting appropriate academic or workplace accommodations for an additional fee
Receipt of documentation does not guarantee that a college, employer, or other institution will approve a particular accommodation.
